Follow Up Lessons Learned From A Scam Artist

Have you ever received the infamous plea for money from Nigeria?  This scam has circulated the internet for years.  There was a program on 20/20 that showed people online at an internet café sending out messages and pleas for help and money too countries all over the world.

Well, they are now using a DIFFERENT STRATEGY.  Isn't that what motivational guru Tony Robbins says to do?  When things aren't working, change up your strategy and try something else.

They must've called a meeting and said, "We need to be more personal and plea directly to individuals by name".

I recently received over 50 inquiries on my website's "Contact Us" form from the same person in Africa.  He wanted to work with me and to contact him.  He followed up with a customized letter (see below) asking me to help sponsor him in business by sending $3500 for products he needed to purchase.  He hand addressed the envelope and personalized the letter enclosed.  WOW!!

Even the scam artists have learned the art of getting their mail opened!  Hand address!  How many times do I get any hand addressed mail, let alone, one with Ghana stamps on it?

Do your prospects open the mail YOU send?  Is it customized and personalized? Do you just send emails because it's easier and quicker?

In these days of fierce competition, the sales person who sends creative, interesting, memorable, personalized mail will be remembered.
